New Zealand tourist arrivals in Vietnam decline by 8.22 percent in November

Vietnam welcomed 4,162 tourists from New Zealand in November, representing a month-on-month decline of 373 visitors or 8.22 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism.

Year-to-date, arrivals from New Zealand reached 43,685, marking a 27.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Despite the slight monthly drop, New Zealand remains an important market for Vietnam within the Oceania region.

New Zealand tourists are drawn to Vietnam’s cultural attractions in Hanoi, Hoi An, and Hue, as well as natural destinations like Halong Bay and Sapa. Beach resorts in Phu Quoc and Danang also appeal to New Zealand visitors seeking leisure and relaxation.

Direct flight options between Vietnam and New Zealand are currently unavailable, but connecting flights through hubs such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok facilitate travel. Airlines like Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, and Vietnam Airlines play a crucial role in linking the two countries.

While November saw a slight decline, the overall growth in New Zealand arrivals year-to-date reflects Vietnam’s ongoing appeal as a long-haul destination for leisure and cultural tourism.
