Vietnam’s motorbike industry
Vietnam’s motorbike industry is one of the largest in Southeast Asia, with millions of units on the road and a strong culture of two-wheel mobility.
Production and sales are dominated by major manufacturers including Honda, Yamaha, Piaggio and Suzuki, supported by extensive domestic supplier networks that provide parts, servicing and aftermarket components.
The industry has been shifting toward higher-value models, including scooters and premium variants, as rising incomes and urban commuting demands change consumer preferences.
Electric motorbikes are also gaining ground, with domestic brands such as VinFast and Dat Bike expanding offerings as the government promotes cleaner transport options through policy targets and infrastructure plans.
