Vietnam’s motorbike industry
Motorbike manufacturing is one of Vietnam’s largest and most mature manufacturing industries, anchored by major Japanese and regional producers alongside a growing network of local suppliers.
Vietnam is among the world’s top motorbike producers and consumers, with production historically focused on domestic demand and regional exports in Southeast Asia and nearby emerging markets.
The sector has benefited from Vietnam’s strong supplier base, competitive labour costs, and long-established assembly operations for internal combustion engine models.
More recently, policy attention and market dynamics have begun to shift toward electric motorbikes, with local firms entering the segment alongside foreign manufacturers adapting their product lines.
