Vietnam’s electronics industry

Vietnam is a major global manufacturing base for electronics, hosting large-scale production of consumer electronics, components, and semiconductors for export markets in Asia, Europe, and North America.

The sector is driven largely by foreign direct investment, with multinational firms operating extensive assembly and testing facilities across northern and southern industrial zones.

Electronics is one of Vietnam’s top export categories, consistently generating tens of billions of US dollars in annual export value and supporting deep integration into global supply chains.

The industry benefits from competitive labour costs, expanding supporting industries, and trade agreements that provide preferential access to key markets.
