Japanese tourist arrivals in Vietnam rise in January

Vietnam welcomed 72,311 tourists from Japan in January, making up 3.5 percent of total international arrivals, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. This represents a 30.2 percent increase from December and a 19.3 percent rise year-on-year.

Japanese hotel brands have a significant presence in Vietnam, reflecting the growing economic and tourism ties between the two countries. Major Japanese hotel chains, such as Hotel Nikko, Okura, and APA Hotel, have established properties in key cities like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. These hotels cater to both Japanese tourists and business travelers, offering services and amenities that align with Japanese preferences, such as Japanese cuisine, Japanese-language services, and a high standard of service.

Japanese hotels in Vietnam not only serve the Japanese expatriate community but also attract local guests, particularly those in business and leisure sectors. They are well-known for their focus on comfort, efficiency, and attention to detail, which are characteristic of Japanese hospitality standards. As Vietnam becomes an increasingly popular destination for Japanese tourists, these hotels play an important role in accommodating the growing number of visitors.

The presence of Japanese hotel brands in Vietnam is also linked to the increasing number of Japanese businesses investing in the country. Many Japanese companies have set up operations in Vietnam, creating a demand for business-friendly hotels that offer meeting spaces and services tailored to corporate clients. Additionally, as tourism grows between Vietnam and Japan, more Japanese hotels are likely to expand in the Vietnamese market, contributing to the country’s broader hospitality industry.
