Vietnam’s imports of machine, equipment, tools and instruments saw an increase in July 2025, reaching $5,498,693,083, a 7.91 percent increase compared to June 2025, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
This positive month-on-month growth contributed to a year-to-date total for this product category, standing at $33,487,917,985.
In July 2025, the top five origins by dollar value for Vietnam’s imports of machine, equipment, tools and instruments were:
China
China remained the dominant origin in July, with import values reaching $3,614,732,726.
This represents a 10.56 percent month-on-month increase from June.
China’s year-to-date total for these imports stands at $21,318,963,377, accounting for 63.66 percent of all YTD imports in this category.
South Korea
South Korea followed as the second-largest origin, with July imports valued at $420,406,599.
This figure indicates a 4.98 percent month-on-month change.
South Korea’s year-to-date total for these imports is $2,729,024,797, representing 8.15 percent of the total YTD imports for this product category.
Japan
Japan secured the third position in July with imports totaling $410,916,074.
This indicates a 5.88 percent month-on-month increase.
Its year-to-date contribution to Vietnam’s imports of machine, equipment, tools and instruments is $2,860,352,109, making up 8.54 percent of the total YTD imports.
Germany
Germany contributed $145,864,439 worth of machine, equipment, tools and instruments in July.
Notably, Germany experienced a significant 29.41 percent month-on-month increase.
Germany’s year-to-date total for these imports is $833,995,463, accounting for 2.49 percent of the total YTD imports for this product.
Taiwan
Taiwan rounded out the top five import origins with $124,467,191 in July imports.
This country saw a -5.80 percent month-on-month decrease.
Taiwan’s year-to-date total for these imports is $881,385,598, representing 2.63 percent of the total YTD imports for this category.
