This positive month-on-month growth contributed to a year-to-date total for this product category, standing at $4,461,191,212.
In July 2025, the top five origins by dollar value for Vietnam’s imports of iron and steel products were:
China
China was the top origin in July, with import values reaching $579,954,380.
This represents a 15.18 percent month-on-month increase from June.
China’s year-to-date total for these imports stands at $3,200,743,107, accounting for 71.75 percent of all YTD imports in this category.
South Korea
South Korea followed as the second-largest origin, with July imports valued at $69,372,817.
This figure indicates a 17.46 percent month-on-month increase.
South Korea’s year-to-date total for these imports is $426,845,878, representing 9.57 percent of the total YTD imports for this product category.
Japan
Japan secured the third position in July with imports totaling $43,039,425.
This indicates a -0.55 percent month-on-month decrease.
Its year-to-date contribution to Vietnam’s imports of iron and steel products is $254,619,821, making up 5.71 percent of the total YTD imports.
Taiwan
Taiwan contributed $17,163,995 worth of iron and steel products in July.
Notably, Taiwan experienced a 17.08 percent month-on-month increase.
Taiwan’s year-to-date total for these imports is $109,381,943, accounting for 2.45 percent of the total YTD imports for this product.
Thailand
Thailand rounded out the top five import origins with $12,786,126 in July imports.
This country saw a -5.00 percent month-on-month decrease.
Thailand’s year-to-date total for these imports is $86,840,044, representing 1.95 percent of the total YTD imports for this category.
