Indonesian tourist arrivals in Vietnam remain steady in November

Vietnam welcomed 15,310 tourists from Indonesia in November, representing a marginal month-on-month increase of 29 visitors or 0.19 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism.

Year-to-date, Indonesian arrivals reached 166,000, reflecting a 29.3 percent growth compared to the same period last year. Indonesia remains a key ASEAN market for Vietnam’s tourism industry, with steady numbers contributing to the sector’s recovery.

Indonesian visitors are drawn to Vietnam’s cultural and culinary offerings in cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Additionally, Halong Bay and Danang are popular for their unique landscapes and leisure options, attracting a mix of business and leisure travellers from Indonesia.

Air connectivity between the two countries is strong, with airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, and Garuda Indonesia offering direct flights between Jakarta and Vietnam’s major cities. Competitive fares and frequent flights further support this steady flow of visitors.

The stable performance in Indonesian tourist arrivals reflects Vietnam’s strong position in the regional tourism market, with opportunities for growth through targeted campaigns and partnerships.
