Vietnam’s exports of handbags, purses, suitcases, headgear and umbrellas reached US$393.52 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents an increase of 7.33 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$1.39 billion.
USA remains the top export market with moderate growth:
The USA was the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$164.03 million. This marks an increase of 6.24 percent from March and accounts for the largest share of the year-to-date exports at 41.77 percent.
Japan sees significant growth:
Japan was the second-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$34.31 million, a substantial increase of 16.58 percent from the previous month. Japan accounts for 10.01 percent of the year-to-date exports.
Netherlands sees a slight decrease but remains a key market:
Exports to the Netherlands saw a marginal decrease of 6.20 percent in April, reaching US$26.61 million. The Netherlands accounts for 7.04 percent of the year-to-date exports.
Germany records significant growth:
Exports to Germany experienced a substantial increase of 20.79 percent in April, reaching US$19.92 million. Germany accounts for 4.68 percent of the year-to-date exports.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
Belgium experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 60.21 percent, followed by China and Australia. Conversely, Hong Kong experienced the most significant decrease at 44.92 percent, followed by Czech Republic and Norway.
