Food & beverage: Vietnam fruit and vegetable imports fall 8.1 percent in August

Vietnam imported US$228.18 million of fruits and vegetables in August, down 8.09 percent from July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year-to-date imports reached US$1.68 billion.

China remained the top supplier with US$83.33 million, accounting for 34.22 percent of the total, followed by the US at US$33.24 million or 23.04 percent.

Imports from Australia rose 37.32 percent month-on-month to US$21.90 million, while Myanmar contributed US$12.32 million, down 10.68 percent.

The figures highlight China’s dominance in the category, though the US continues to hold a strong share, with regional partners such as Australia and Myanmar also playing key roles.
