Foreign direct investment in HCMC

Ho Chi Minh City has been a significant recipient of foreign direct investment in Vietnam. Factors such as its geographic location, infrastructure development, workforce skills, and economic climate have contributed to its attractiveness for foreign investors. The city has seen substantial FDI inflows across various industries, influencing its economic growth and development.

Of note, in 2024, up to the end of July, a total of 710 foreign direct invested projects had been initiated in Ho Chi Minh City. These projects saw commitments of a combined US$1.55 billion in registered capital. This was a slight decline over the first seven months of 2023 during which Ho Chi Minh City recorded an US$1.64 billion of newly registered capital.
