Denmark sees significant growth in foreign direct investment in Vietnam in December

In December 2024, Denmark registered 3 new projects with US$21.83 million in newly registered capital, according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment. Foreign direct investment (FDI) from Denmark into Vietnam has been steadily increasing, reflecting the growing economic ties between the two countries. Danish investors have focused on sectors such as renewable energy, maritime logistics, food processing, and manufacturing, leveraging their expertise in sustainability and advanced technologies. Companies like Maersk, Grundfos, and LEGO have established a significant presence in Vietnam, contributing to the country’s industrial and export development.

Vietnam’s commitment to green growth and infrastructure modernisation aligns with Denmark’s strengths, particularly in wind energy and water management. Danish companies have actively participated in Vietnam’s energy transition, with projects supporting the development of offshore wind power and other clean energy solutions. The strong bilateral relationship, underpinned by trade agreements and mutual sustainability goals, positions Denmark as an important partner in Vietnam’s economic and environmental development. As Vietnam continues to focus on innovation and sustainability, Danish FDI is expected to grow, contributing to long-term economic progress.
