Danish tourist arrivals to Vietnam grow by 6.36 percent in December

Vietnam welcomed 3,462 tourists from Denmark in December, an increase of 207 visitors compared to November, reflecting a month-on-month growth of 6.36 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. All up, Danish arrivals reached 36,920 in 2024, marking a 22.1 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Danish tourists are attracted to Vietnam for its unique combination of cultural and natural attractions. Popular destinations include Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for their vibrant history, bustling markets, and rich culinary experiences. Leisure destinations such as Phu Quoc and Da Nang are also favoured by Danish travellers for their pristine beaches and luxurious resorts.

Danish visitors often enjoy eco-tourism activities, such as trekking in Sapa or exploring the Mekong Delta, and prefer immersive experiences such as local homestays and cultural tours. Culinary tourism, particularly Vietnamese street food, is another key highlight for Danish tourists.

Although there are no direct flights between Denmark and Vietnam, airlines like Qatar Airways, Emirates, and Turkish Airlines offer connecting routes through Doha, Dubai, and Istanbul, making travel convenient. Seasonal interest in tropical destinations during Denmark’s winter months contributes to the steady growth in arrivals.

With consistent annual growth, Denmark remains a key market for Vietnam in Northern Europe, supported by strong cultural appeal and targeted tourism campaigns.
