Cosmetics production falls in September per key Vietnam production index

Vietnam’s cosmetics and personal care production sector, including items like soaps, detergents, polishes, and toilet preparations, has shown robust growth in 2024 despite a minor monthly decline in September. According to Vietnam’s latest industrial production index, its cosmetics experienced a slight 0.5 percent drop in September compared to August. However, year-on-year comparisons paint a more optimistic picture, with an 8.9 percent increase compared to September 2023.

From January to September 2024, the sector posted an impressive 15.1 percent growth, highlighting sustained demand for these products throughout the year. The strong year-to-date performance reflects the growing importance of Vietnam’s cosmetics and personal care market, driven by increasing consumer spending and rising interest in beauty and hygiene products across the country. Despite short-term fluctuations, the long-term outlook for the sector remains positive.
