Vietnam imported US$711.91 million worth of chemicals in April 2025, marking a 5.9 percent increase from March, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Total year-to-date imports reached US$2.58 billion.
Country highlights:
- China remained the dominant supplier with US$314.46 million, up 3.1 percent month-on-month and accounting for 43.6 percent of the year-to-date total.
- Taiwan followed with US$59.41 million in April, rising 10.4 percent and representing 8.3 percent of total imports.
- Japan supplied US$45.09 million, up 4.7 percent.
- Malaysia increased shipments by 45.3 percent to US$53.54 million, contributing 5.8 percent of the YTD figure.
- South Korea saw a modest increase of 3.2 percent to US$38.77 million.
- Thailand recorded a significant rise of 75.6 percent to US$42.87 million.
- Sharp month-on-month surges were also seen from Saudi Arabia (up 219.0 percent), Switzerland (up 144.3 percent), Qatar (up 245.0 percent), and the UK (up 131.8 percent).
- Conversely, Indonesia fell 59.8 percent and Singapore dropped nearly 20 percent.
