Vietnam welcomed 17,582 tourists from Canada in November, marking a month-on-month increase of 5,192 visitors or 41.90 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism.
Year-to-date, Canadian arrivals reached 138,642, reflecting a 24.5 percent growth compared to the same period last year. This growth positions Canada as a key contributor to Vietnam’s expanding long-haul tourism market.
Canadian tourists frequently visit cultural and historical sites in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, alongside natural attractions like Halong Bay and Sapa. Coastal destinations such as Phu Quoc and Danang are also popular, offering relaxation and tropical charm for leisure travellers.
Direct flights between Vancouver and Ho Chi Minh City, operated by Vietnam Airlines and Air Canada, have facilitated travel. Connecting flights through hubs like Tokyo and Seoul also contribute to the steady growth in arrivals.
The sharp rise in Canadian tourist numbers highlights Vietnam’s growing appeal as a diverse and accessible destination for North American travellers, supported by improved air connectivity and promotional efforts.
