Vietnam’s wood, bamboo, and rattan production show steady annual growth

Vietnam’s production of wood, bamboo, and rattan products declined slightly by 0.2 percent in December compared to November, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.

Year-on-year, the sector grew by 11.1 percent in December compared to December 2023. For the full year of 2024, cumulative growth stood at 9.7 percent compared to 2023, reflecting consistent progress throughout the year.

The minor decline in December could be attributed to seasonal adjustments or reduced output at the end of the year. However, the strong annual growth highlights increasing demand for Vietnam’s high-quality wooden and rattan furniture, home decor, and bamboo products, both domestically and in export markets.

Vietnam’s wood, bamboo, and rattan industry is a key part of its manufacturing sector, leveraging sustainable resources and skilled craftsmanship. With the nation being one of the leading global exporters of wooden furniture, continued investment in technology and sustainability is expected to drive further growth.

The sector’s consistent performance in 2024 reinforces its importance to Vietnam’s industrial and export economy.
