Vietnam’s VN-Index down 30.64 points, foreign traders net-sell US$42.5 million, Monday

The VN-Index closed at 1,652.54, down 30.64 points or 1.82 percent, with foreign traders net-selling US$42.5 millions worth of stocks, according to the latest data from the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchangeview source.

Trading value reached VND 30.7 trillion or about US$1.17 billion.

Losses were widespread across major benchmarks: VN30 fell 2.25 percent to 1,900.76, VN100 lost 2.02 percent, and VNAllshare slid 1.94 percent.

Sectors hit hardest included construction materials (-3.66 percent), real estate (-3.52 percent), and industrials (-2.92 percent).

By contrast, information technology, materials, and utilities gained modestly, up between 0.1 and 0.9 percent, as defensive sectors absorbed part of the selling pressure.

Most traded

Market liquidity remained strong but selling pressure was broad-based.

SSI dropped 3.33 percent to VND 34.80 with trading value of about VND 2.51 trillion or US$96 million.

SHB slipped 0.92 percent to VND 16.15 on heavy turnover of 955.6 million shares worth VND 1.55 trillion or US$59 million.

MBB fell 2.46 percent to VND 23.80, while CII tumbled 6.93 percent to VND 24.85 amid profit-taking in construction stocks.

VIX was the only gainer, inching up 0.16 percent to VND 31.00 with solid trading of VND 1.78 trillion or US$67 million.

Foreign trading

Foreign investors remained net sellers on 27 October 2025.

They bought VND 3.21 trillion or about US$121.9 million worth of shares and sold VND 4.33 trillion or about US$164.4 million.

The resulting net outflow was VND 1.12 trillion or approximately US$42.5 million, extending the recent trend of foreign divestment from large-cap stocks.

Vietnam stocks most bought by foreign traders

Foreign traders were most active in VPBank (VPB), buying 5.73 million shares for a net inflow of 4.19 million shares despite a 95.97 percent nominal drop due to price adjustment effects.

FPT followed with net buying of 3.10 million shares, closing at VND 98,000, down 1.01 percent.

Techcom Securities (TCX) saw a modest net inflow of 321,300 shares.

Meanwhile, MBB and SSI faced strong foreign selling, with net outflows of 18.56 million and 16.34 million shares respectively, weighing on the banking and brokerage sectors.

Vietnam stocks most sold by foreign traders

Foreign investors were heavy net sellers on 27 October, led by MBB and SSI.

MBB saw 23.61 million shares sold against 5.05 million bought, for a net outflow of 18.56 million shares as the stock fell 3.05 percent to VND 23.80.

SSI recorded net selling of 16.34 million shares, closing down 4.40 percent at VND 34.80.

SHB and PDR also faced significant foreign liquidation, with net sales of 2.67 million and 2.48 million shares respectively.

By contrast, Techcom Securities (TCX) remained one of the few stocks with net foreign buying.
