Vietnam’s tea exports decline by 24.39 percent in January

Vietnam’s tea exports fell by 24.39 percent month-on-month in January, totalling US$16.43 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Pakistan remained the largest importer, accounting for 38.67 percent of total exports at US$6.35 million, a drop of 33.25 percent from December. Other markets included Russia (US$1.23 million, down 2.01 percent) and Taiwan (US$1.16 million, down 50.22 percent). China imported US$0.97 million, representing a decline of 30.23 percent, while Indonesia received US$0.71 million, down 11.81 percent.

Several smaller markets showed mixed results. For instance, Kazakhstan saw a growth of 36.43 percent, reaching US$0.20 million, while the USA experienced a significant decrease of 57.94 percent to US$0.50 million. Germany recorded an increase of 8.29 percent, totalling US$0.12 million.

Overall, despite some positive trends in minor markets, the decline across major importers such as Pakistan, Taiwan, and China largely contributed to January’s overall drop.
