Vietnam’s rubber and plastic products production shows strong 2024 growth

Vietnam’s production of rubber and plastic products increased by 6.1 percent in December 2024 compared to November 2024, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.

Year-on-year, the sector posted a robust growth of 20.7 percent in December compared to December 2023. For the full year of 2024, cumulative growth reached an impressive 24.9 percent compared to 2023, highlighting a strong annual performance.

The December growth reflects rising demand for rubber and plastic products in key industries such as automotive, construction, and consumer goods. The significant year-on-year and annual increases demonstrate Vietnam’s growing capacity to meet domestic and international market requirements for these versatile materials.

Vietnam’s rubber and plastic industries are critical to its manufacturing and export economy, with investments in modern technology and sustainable production methods driving growth. The sectors benefit from Vietnam’s position as a major supplier of natural rubber and its growing role in producing value-added plastic products for global supply chains.

The exceptional performance in 2024 underscores the potential for continued expansion in these sectors as Vietnam solidifies its role in global manufacturing.
