Vietnam’s processed seafood production has seen significant growth in the first two months of 2025. According to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Office of Statistics, the country produced 485,900 tons of processed seafood in January 2025. In February, this figure decreased slightly to 484,000 thousand tons.
The cumulative total for the first two months of the year reached 969,900 tons. This represents a 14.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, the year-to-date figure reflects a 2.4 percent increase when compared to the first two months of 2024, indicating continued growth in the sector.
Processed seafood production remains a key part of Vietnam’s export-oriented economy, with the sector benefitting from both domestic consumption and growing international demand.
Vietnam’s processed seafood facilities are primarily located in coastal regions, where the raw material is abundant. Major provinces involved in the industry include Ca Mau, Ben Tre, and Khanh Hoa, which focus on producing a wide variety of seafood products for export.
