Vietnam’s exports of precious stones, precious metals, and related articles increased in October 2024, reaching a value of US$55.52 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents an 18.1 percent rise compared to September, which recorded US$47.02 million. The October growth reflects renewed demand for these high-value products.
However, year-to-date performance remains weak. From January to October, exports in this category totalled US$523.14 million, marking a significant 38.3 percent decline compared to the same period in 2023.
The October recovery offers a positive outlook, but the substantial year-to-date drop highlights challenges, potentially due to fluctuating global demand and market prices. The sector may require strategic adjustments to stabilise and enhance its export performance in the coming months.
