Vietnam imported US$836.52 million worth of petroleum products in December 2024, marking a substantial 48.16 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$7.98 billion.
Singapore emerged as the leading supplier in December, with exports to Vietnam doubling to US$369.66 million, a 100.00 percent increase. South Korea followed, exporting US$206.84 million, a 26.70 percent rise from the previous month. Imports from Malaysia also showed significant growth, climbing 48.53 percent to US$105.69 million.
Conversely, imports from Thailand and China decreased by 11.52 percent and 8.52 percent, respectively. Other sources collectively contributed US$24.15 million, marking an extraordinary 478,053.87 percent increase, while imports from Russia remained negligible.
