Vietnam’s pepper exports experienced a decline of 11.7 percent month-on-month in November, amounting to US$106.49 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports totalled US$1.22 billion, reflecting a challenging year for the sector.
The United States remained the largest importer, contributing US$39.55 million in November, a modest 2.92 percent increase from October, bringing its year-to-date total to US$377.50 million. Other significant markets included the Netherlands, which saw a notable contraction of 27.24 percent, and Thailand, which increased its imports by 18.94 percent.
The sector showed mixed results across markets, with South Korea and Japan recording double-digit growth, while traditional partners such as the UK and the Netherlands contracted sharply.
