Vietnam’s pepper exports decline by 8.79 percent in December

Vietnam’s exports of pepper decreased by 8.79 percent in December compared to November, reaching US$97.12 million, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Vietnam’s pepper exports total US$1.31 billion for 2024.

The decline in exports was primarily driven by a sharp drop in shipments to the USA, which saw a 23.42 percent decrease, amounting to US$30.29 million. Exports to Thailand, Japan, and South Korea also showed significant declines of 34.21 percent, 32.20 percent, and 57.11 percent, respectively.

However, some markets saw positive growth. Exports to India, France, and Canada increased by 67.21 percent, 879.40 percent, and 57.99 percent, respectively. Exports to Australia also grew by 85.64 percent.
