Vietnam’s insulated wire and cable exports fall by 4.68 percent in January

Vietnam’s exports of insulated wires and cables declined by 4.68 percent month-on-month in January, reaching US$301.91 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

The US remained the largest market, accounting for 33.00 percent of total exports at US$99.63 million, a slight decline of 1.77 percent from December. China followed with US$60.45 million, representing 20.02 percent of total exports, down 8.63 percent. South Korea ranked third with US$31.06 million, making up 10.29 percent of total exports, decreasing by 9.60 percent.

Compared to December, Indonesia recorded the highest growth, surging by 73.85 percent to US$3.10 million. The UK and France also saw significant increases, rising by 39.66 percent and 31.77 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, exports to Myanmar and Laos declined sharply, falling by 87.31 percent and 62.07 percent, respectively.

The top five markets—the US, China, South Korea, Japan, and Thailand—accounted for 74.55 percent of Vietnam’s total insulated wire and cable exports in January. While some smaller markets experienced growth, the overall decline reflects weaker demand from major buyers.
