Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index falls in February but still up year-on-year

For the first two months of 2025, the IIP rose by 7.0 percent compared to the same period in 2024. The processing and manufacturing sector led this growth with a 20.0 percent increase in February compared to a year earlier. Electricity production and distribution rose by 9.9 percent, while water supply, waste, and wastewater management grew by 13.9 percent. Despite the month-on-month contraction, Vietnam’s industrial sector continues to show strong annual growth, driven by expansion in manufacturing and utilities.
