Vietnam’s imports of precious stones and metals rise by 2.93 percent in December

Vietnam imported US$87.64 million worth of precious stones, precious metals, and related articles in December 2024, a 2.93 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports totalled US$884.95 million.

Hong Kong was a key supplier, with imports rising by 30.83 percent to US$15.38 million. Thailand and Switzerland showed significant growth, with increases of 86.49 percent and 169.42 percent, respectively. Imports from China also saw a notable rise of 25.30 percent.

Conversely, imports from India and Belgium experienced sharp declines of 28.32 percent and 36.68 percent, respectively. Imports from South Korea, Australia, and the USA also decreased slightly, by 18.11 percent, 6.60 percent, and 1.86 percent, respectively.
