Vietnam’s food processing and manufacturing sees consistent growth

Vietnam’s food processing and manufacturing industry expanded by 3.0 percent in December compared to November, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.

Year-on-year, the industry grew by 10.0 percent in December compared to the same month in 2023. For the full year of 2024, cumulative growth stood at 7.4 percent compared to 2023, highlighting steady progress in this vital sector.

The monthly growth reflects heightened activity during the year-end period, likely driven by increased consumer demand and export orders. The strong year-on-year and annual growth figures underline the sector’s resilience amidst global economic challenges and rising input costs.

Food processing and manufacturing is a cornerstone of Vietnam’s economy, catering to both domestic and international markets. With a growing emphasis on high-quality exports, the industry has benefited from investment in technology and infrastructure, particularly in key segments like seafood, beverages, and packaged foods.
