Vietnam exported US$4.24 billion worth of goods to China in February 2025, up 16.15 percent from US$3.65 billion in January, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brought total exports to China in the first two months of the year to US$7.88 billion.
The largest export category was computers, electrical products and spare parts, which reached US$1.22 billion in February. Telephones and components followed with US$850.14 million, while still image and video cameras came in at US$291.09 million. Exports of machinery and equipment also saw strong performance at US$264.77 million.
Agricultural and raw material exports remained key to Vietnam’s trade with China. Exports of rubber totalled US$153.31 million, while fishery products hit US$129.09 million and fruit and vegetable shipments reached US$132.96 million. Other top categories included footwear at US$157.12 million, textiles and garments at US$97.27 million, and yarn at US$164.05 million.
Exports of wooden products, insulated wires, chemical goods, animal feed, cashew nuts, and plastic products were also notable. Rice exports nearly tripled month-on-month to US$26.10 million. Other consistently shipped categories included coffee, paper goods, petroleum products, and toys.
Vietnam’s February export growth to China was driven by rising shipments in electronics, machinery, agricultural commodities, and consumer goods, underscoring the strength of bilateral trade between the two neighbouring economies.
