Vietnam’s cotton imports increase slightly by 0.60 percent in December

Vietnam imported US$233.38 million worth of cotton in December 2024, showing a marginal 0.60 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$2.88 billion.

Brazil remained the largest supplier, with imports increasing by 5.79 percent to US$114.24 million. The USA followed with a significant 21.24 percent rise, reaching US$28.66 million. Ivory Coast showed remarkable growth, with imports surging by 249.83 percent to US$2.37 million.

Conversely, imports from Australia and India declined by 19.51 percent and 25.49 percent, respectively. Smaller suppliers, such as South Korea and Argentina, showed steady increases of 58.96 percent and 5.37 percent, respectively.
