Vietnam’s consumer price index for garments, hats, and shoes shows modest increase

Vietnam’s consumer price index–CPI–for garments, hats, and shoes in Vietnam experienced a modest rise in October. Compared to October 2023, prices in this sector increased by 1.13 percent, reflecting a relatively low annual rise, likely due to stable demand and competitive pricing. Since December 2023, the CPI grew by 0.67 percent, showing moderate price increases throughout the year. From September to October 2024, the index saw only a slight .09 percent rise, indicating minimal month-to-month price movement.

From January to October, the CPI for garments, hats, and shoes increased by 1.45 percent over the same period in 2023. This subdued growth likely stems from a significant supply of garments and apparel as a result of being a key global manufacturing hub for these goods.
