Vietnam’s consumer price index–CPI–for eating outside the family continued to climb in October 2024, reflecting an increase in dining costs as demand for food services remains strong.
Compared to October 2023, the CPI for dining out rose by 3.81 percent, indicating a noticeable annual increase in prices within this sector. Since December 2023, dining prices have grown by 3.54 percent, highlighting consistent upward pressure through the year. Month-over-month, the CPI saw a modest 0.19 percent increase from September to October 2024, pointing to stable short-term price levels.
Year-to-date, from January to October 2024, the CPI for dining out rose by 4.01 percent over the same period in 2023. This growth suggests strong consumer demand for dining services and likely reflects inflationary pressures on food costs and operational expenses for eateries.
