Vietnam’s computer and electronics exports dip in October, but year-to-date figures show strong growth

Vietnam’s exports of computers, electrical products, spare parts, and components fell in October 2024, with the export value reaching US$5.91 billion. This marks a 7.2 percent decline compared to September, when the sector generated US$6.36 billion, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs

However, year-to-date figures reveal robust growth. From January to October, exports in this category totalled US$58.67 billion, a 26.1 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.

The year-to-date rise highlights Vietnam’s increasing competitiveness in the global electronics market, driven by strong manufacturing capacity and diversified product offerings. While October’s decline signals a temporary setback, the overall growth trend underscores the sector’s critical role in Vietnam’s export portfolio and its potential for continued expansion.
