Vietnam’s coal exports increased by 65.24 percent in December compared to November, reaching US$18.73 million, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Vietnam’s exports of coal total US$161.13 million for 2024.
The month-on-month increase was driven by significant growth in exports to Thailand, which saw a 1480.61 percent rise, amounting to US$1.05 million. Exports to Japan and South Korea also showed positive growth, reaching US$9.72 million and US$1.02 million, respectively. Exports to Indonesia also showed positive movement, amounting to US$5.29 million.
However, some markets experienced a decline. Exports to South Africa, the Netherlands, and Taiwan dropped significantly, with exports falling by 100 percent in all three cases.
