Vietnam’s production of building materials from clay decreased by 2.5 percent in December 2024 compared to November 2024, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.
Year-on-year, the sector grew by 8.7 percent in December compared to December 2023. For the full year of 2024, cumulative growth stood at 3.6 percent compared to 2023, reflecting a steady annual performance despite the monthly dip.
The decline in December could be attributed to seasonal adjustments or slowing construction activities at year-end. However, the year-on-year and annual growth reflect sustained demand for clay-based materials in Vietnam’s thriving construction industry, fuelled by infrastructure projects and urbanisation efforts.
Vietnam’s clay-based building materials sector is integral to its construction industry, producing bricks, tiles, and other essential materials. Ongoing investments in modern production methods and eco-friendly practices are expected to enhance the sector’s competitiveness in domestic and export markets.
The steady annual growth in 2024 underscores the sector’s role in Vietnam’s industrial and construction landscape.
