Vietnam’s chemical imports rose by 21.73 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$657.83 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This marks a significant increase from January’s total of US$540.41 million, reflecting growing demand for chemicals across industries.
Year-to-date, total chemical imports have reached nearly US$1.2 billion, with China continuing to be the largest supplier, accounting for 39.66 percent of total imports. Shipments from China increased by 5.67 percent month-on-month. Taiwan and the USA recorded the highest growth rates among major suppliers, rising by 61.58 percent and 44.51 percent, respectively.
Imports from Thailand surged by 91.48 percent, while Germany recorded a 66.01 percent increase. Meanwhile, shipments from Singapore and Indonesia declined by 33.83 percent and 11.69 percent, respectively.
