Vietnam’s chemical exports inch up in March, with sharp surge to India

Vietnam exported US$241.43 million worth of chemicals in March 2025, a modest rise of 2.09 percent from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year-to-date chemical exports stood at US$686.18 million. India was the standout buyer, with imports soaring 301.09 percent month-on-month to US$67.34 million, making it Vietnam’s second-largest destination in the category. Shipments to China fell 8.54 percent while exports to Japan and South Korea rose sharply. Exports to Malaysia and Indonesia declined significantly after strong volumes in February.

This performance highlights a rebalancing of Vietnam’s chemical export markets, with South and Northeast Asia accounting for most of the trade.
