Vietnam’s chemical exports decrease by 12.82 percent in December

Vietnam’s exports of chemicals decreased by 12.82 percent in December compared to November, reaching US$227.67 million, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Vietnam’s exports of chemicals total US$2.77 billion for 2024, reflecting a strong performance despite the month-on-month decline.

The month-on-month decline was primarily due to a reduction in exports to Malaysia, which saw a drop of 76.98 percent, amounting to US$2.5 million. Exports to Taiwan also saw a large decline of 51.16 percent, amounting to US$3.71 million. However, exports to China, Indonesia, and South Korea showed positive growth, increasing by 10.69 percent, 9.79 percent, and 47.89 percent, respectively. Exports to Japan and India saw declines of 25.27 percent and 1.50 percent, respectively.
