Vietnam’s cashew nut imports rise by 32.53 percent in December

Vietnam imported US$184.74 million worth of cashew nuts in December 2024, marking a 32.53 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$3.22 billion.

Tanzania emerged as the standout supplier in December, with imports surging by an extraordinary 855.01 percent to US$87.78 million. Indonesia also showed significant growth, with imports rising 33.47 percent to US$27.77 million.

Conversely, imports from Cambodia and Ghana fell sharply, declining by 78.85 percent and 69.90 percent, respectively. Ivory Coast and Nigeria also experienced notable drops of 19.95 percent and 64.42 percent, respectively. Other suppliers collectively saw a 39.93 percent decline, totalling US$22.77 million.
