Vietnam’s pharmaceuticals industry
Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry is expanding rapidly, supported by rising healthcare demand, an ageing population, and increasing incomes.
The market remains reliant on imported drugs and raw materials, although domestic manufacturers are scaling up production and upgrading standards.
Foreign firms play a significant role through imports, distribution partnerships, and investment, particularly in high-value and specialised medicines.
Regulatory reforms, hospital procurement policies, and price controls continue to shape competition, market access, and industry growth.
