Vietnam’s imports of pharmaceutical products in September increased 6.95 percent over August, increasing from US$349.6 million to US$373.9 million, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brings the total value of pharmaceutical products imported into Vietnam in 2024 year-to-date to US$3.13 billion.
Of note:
- Italy recorded among the highest month-on-month growth, with an impressive 42.96 percent increase to US$28,827,691 in September. Italy’s total for the year is now US$218,344,495.
- Belgium, with an 8.50 percent increase, and Switzerland, with a 32.64 percent increase, both showed steady growth, contributing US$23,789,578 and US$11,205,095 in September, respectively.
- Japan saw a significant spike in imports, with an astonishing 186.40 percent increase, though its September total of US$13,556,978. Japan’s total for the year so far now stands at US$52,869,822.
