Vietnam imported US$308.56 million of pharmaceutical products in August, falling 15.7 percent from July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date imports reached US$2.80 billion.
France led suppliers at US$49.12 million, a 30.1 percent rise month-on-month, followed by the USA with US$26.56 million, up 6.1 percent.
India also increased shipments to US$26.14 million, while Germany, Belgium, and Italy posted double-digit declines.
Notably, Sweden surged 114.2 percent to US$10.01 million, and Russia jumped 632.6 percent from a low base.
Despite August’s downturn, Vietnam’s pharmaceutical imports remain diverse, with strong European presence complemented by rising U.S. and Indian volumes.
