Food & beverage: Vietnam corn imports in August up 20.9 percent, Argentina & Brazil dominate supply

Vietnam imported US$315.20 million of corn in August, a 20.9 percent increase from July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year-to-date imports reached US$1.73 billion.

Argentina remained the leading supplier at US$197.67 million, rising 41.3 percent month-on-month and accounting for 54.8 percent of the total.

Brazil surged to second place with US$90.56 million, a 233.2 percent jump from July.

Cambodia entered the market with US$12.41 million, while Thailand also increased shipments by 87.0 percent to US$2.21 million.

South American exporters continue to dominate Vietnam’s corn supply, together contributing more than three-quarters of total imports in 2025 to date.
