Vietnam medicines and medical services costs rise .18 percent in July over August

The cost of medicines and medical services in Vietnam went up by .18 percent in August over July, according to the General Department of Statistics’ Consumer Price Index data. This was in line with a year-on-year increase in the  cost of medicines and medical services of 8.3 percent.

Notably, this fits with Vietnam’s pharmaceuticals industry being poised for significant growth, driven by rising healthcare demands, increasing government support, and a growing middle class with heightened health awareness.

Furthermore, the rise of health-conscious consumers has also spurred interest in dietary supplements and herbal medicines, further diversifying the market. As regulatory frameworks evolve to accommodate new types of products, the industry is expected to attract more investment and collaboration, positioning Vietnam as a competitive player in the regional pharmaceuticals landscape.
