ToggleVietnam imported iron and steel to the tune of US$1,008 million in April, up from US$891 million in March, a change of 13.08 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$3,613 million worth of iron and steel by the end of April.

Vietnam’s iron and steel industry
Vietnam’s steel industry is a core component of the country’s industrial base, supporting construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure development.
Domestic production has expanded rapidly in recent years, driven by strong demand and significant investment in large-scale steel plants.
The sector remains influenced by global price movements and trade dynamics, with imports and exports playing a key role in supply balance.
