Vietnam Industrial Production Index up 10.8 percent year-on-year in October

Industrial production in November continued to grow as businesses increased output to meet year-end domestic consumption and export demand, according to the latest data from the National Office of Statistics (NSO).

The industrial production index is estimated to have risen by 2.3 percent from October and by 10.8 percent from November last year.

The NSO goes on to note that in the first eleven months of 2025, industrial production increased by 9.3 percent from the same period a year earlier.

Of note, processing and manufacturing recorded the strongest performance, rising by 11.8 percent in November from a year earlier, while mining increased by 7 percent, water supply and waste management by 6.5 percent, and electricity production and distribution by 5.8 percent.

The NSO goes on to say that across the first eleven months of the year, processing and manufacturing has increased by 10.6 percent and remained the biggest contributor to overall industrial growth.

It also adds notable increases in secondary industries over the same period including: motor vehicle production, up 22.0 percent, other non-metallic mineral products, up 16.5 percent, rubber and plastic products, up 16.4 percent, and metal production, up 15.5 percent.

Furthermore, garment manufacturing increased by 13.5 percent, prefabricated metal products by 12.6 percent, paper and paper products by 11.6 percent, leather and related products and chemicals by 11.2 percent, coke and refined petroleum products by 10.6 percent, and food processing by 10.5 percent.
