Donald Trump has announced via Truth Social that his administration will impose a fresh wave of tariffs on pharmaceuticals, furniture, and heavy trucks starting 1 October 2025 → view source.
Key details:
Furniture
A 50 percent tariff will be imposed on kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and associated products. In addition, upholstered furniture will face a 30 percent tariff.
Trump said this measure addresses what he described as unfair flooding of imports into the US market.

Heavy trucks
All imported heavy trucks will face a 25 percent tariff.
Trump stated that this is intended to protect American manufacturers such as Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, and Mack Trucks, linking the policy to both economic protection and national security.

Pharmaceuticals
Trump announced a 100 percent tariff on branded or patented pharmaceutical products.
The tariff will not apply if a company is already building a manufacturing plant in the United States, defined as either breaking ground or being under construction.
