Vietnam’s exports to Thailand fell to US$668.04 million in July, down 8.81 percent from June, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date exports stood at US$4.84 billion, with computers, machinery, and phones leading flows despite volatility.
Computers and electrical products dropped 42.61 percent to US$96.95 million but remained the largest category at 18.08 percent of total exports. Machinery rose 27.51 percent to US$103.84 million, while phones jumped 28.01 percent to US$81.24 million.
Transport parts grew 7.45 percent to US$58.22 million, while crude oil fell 5.72 percent to US$22.09 million.
Agricultural and resource exports were mixed. Coffee slid 31.95 percent to US$25.30 million, while fishery products grew 10.54 percent.
Fruits and vegetables nearly doubled to US$5.96 million, and cashew nuts rose 16.79 percent. Iron and steel plunged 58.11 percent, while chemicals collapsed 80.93 percent to just US$2.22 million.
Consumer products such as textiles, footwear, and plastic goods recorded modest declines, while fertilizers and coal saw sharp percentage gains from low bases.
Precious stones surged 173.18 percent to US$2.87 million, though volumes were small.
The data underscores Thailand’s importance as a destination for Vietnam’s manufactured and industrial goods, even as electronics faced a sharp correction.
Agricultural and consumer goods provided partial offset, though trade remained highly uneven across sectors.
