Vietnam’s exports to Indonesia reached US$494.98 million in July, up 3.46 percent from June, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date exports stood at US$3.35 billion, led by transport equipment, textiles, and electronics.
Transport parts were the largest category, climbing 25.87 percent to US$105.66 million. Other products fell 27.78 percent to US$51.11 million but remained a key segment. Textiles edged down 1.55 percent to US$42.75 million, while phones jumped 51.58 percent to US$42.71 million.
Machinery posted a modest 0.84 percent increase to US$37.24 million, and footwear slipped 11.76 percent to US$9.45 million.
Industrial materials showed sharp movements. Iron and steel surged 86.21 percent to US$24.68 million, plastics rose 25.18 percent, and paper products grew 48.03 percent.
By contrast, chemicals plunged nearly 80 percent to US$3.79 million, and base metals dropped 60.71 percent. Rubber also fell 29.07 percent.
Agricultural exports were mixed. Coffee fell 8.56 percent to US$15.32 million, while rice more than doubled to nearly US$970,000.
Tea rose 29.57 percent, while fruit and vegetable exports declined 26.96 percent.
Fishery products increased slightly.
The figures show Indonesia as a significant market for Vietnam’s industrial goods, with strong demand for transport parts, textiles, and metals.
Agricultural exports remain small but volatile, while industrial inputs continue to anchor bilateral trade.
